Thread Lifting

Thread lifting, also known as the fine-thread contouring technique, is one of the most effective methods for tightening sagging skin. It can be applied to stimulate collagen in the sagging skin of the face, chin, and neck. Thread lifting using the latest absorbable threads is essentially a ‘lunchtime’ treatment. The material of the implanted threads is the same as the absorbable surgical sutures used safely for decades, which completely break down in the body.

This technique achieves subtle yet noticeable results. The effect is not as dramatically transformative as surgical facelifts, but it is more natural, preserving the natural features of the face or the treated area while repositioning them. Another significant advantage of this method is the absence of scars and minimal or no downtime.

Thread lift is most suitable for treating sagging facial skin, chin, and neck, but it also has excellent effects on other body areas, such as correcting sagging arms and abdomen.

It is the ideal choice for individuals in the age groups of 30-40-50. It is advisable to intervene early at the first signs of connective tissue fiber loss, and halt the process; however, the method can still be applied later. The implanted threads not only provide support but, due to their collagen-inducing effect, also tighten the skin in the direction they are inserted. This effect is known as vectorial collagen induction. Thus, new connective tissue is formed around the implanted threads, which continues to support and tighten the skin even after the threads have been absorbed. The skin remains firm and youthful for a long time, up to 1.5-2 years after the treatment. The effect can be enhanced with repeated treatments, with fewer threads needed in most subsequent sessions.

The procedure can be performed without anesthesia or with local anesthesia. It takes only half an hour to an hour, depending on the quantity of implanted threads. The effect is immediately visible, but further improvement can be expected in the months following the treatment as the threads embed and new supportive connective tissue forms simultaneously.

In some cases, bruising, swelling lasting for a few days, and mild pain at the intervention site may occur. However, these symptoms usually subside completely within a few days.
