WHAT IS ZO® 3-STEP PEEL™ EXACTLY?
A 3-step exfoliating treatment developed by Dr. Zen Obagi, renowned worldwide as one of the most famous and effective peeling treatments:
After applying a special cocktail of acids, massage 6% retinol cream into the facial skin. This penetrates the dermal layer through the openings created by the acids, acting on collagen and elastin-producing cells. It offers an intensive but safe treatment with a quick recovery time (5-10 days).
At the end of the treatment, a new, healthy, tight, and more resilient skin is formed, visibly younger and renewed.
WHICH PROBLEMS IS ZO 3-STEP PEEL SUITABLE FOR?
- MELASMA, HYPERPIGMENTATION, SUN SPOTS, AGING SPOTS
- POOR TEXTURE, ENLARGED PORES
- FINE LINES, CROW’S FEET
- DULL, LIFELESS SKIN
- ACNE
- POOR SKIN TONE
Pre-treatment considerations, contraindications:
- The treatment is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, sunburned or wounded skin, and those sensitive to acids.
- Discontinue the use of retinol and acidic (AHA, BHA, salicylic) products, as well as at-home peels, 4-6 days before the treatment.
- Avoid microdermabrasion, laser or IPL treatments, and other intensive anti-aging or acne treatments 1.5 months before the treatment.
- Individuals prone to herpes should take antiviral medication 2 days before and 4-6 days after the treatment.
- Skin “conditioning” or preparation is necessary 4-6 weeks before the treatment using ZO products and preferably a retinol product to avoid side effects and increase tolerance. It’s not a requirement to purchase products from RevitalMed, of course.
AFTER THE TREATMENT:
- Skin peeling begins on the 3rd day and lasts for approximately 10 days. Itching, redness, and dryness may be experienced during the post-treatment period. The skin’s upper epidermal layer darkens but eventually peels off.
- Avoid direct contact with water until fully healed (extended face washing, soaking).
- Avoid exercise and sweating until complete healing.
- Any treatments, microdermabrasion, acids, IPL, or laser treatments are prohibited until complete healing.
- Sun and heat exposure is mandatory to avoid for 7-10 days after the treatment.
After complete healing, the client can return to their ZO daily skincare routine, maintaining the results for an extended period.
The treatment can be performed 4-6 weeks after Botox, other anti-wrinkle, or injectable treatments.
