PRP (Dracula) therapy
PRP treatment (Platelet Rich Plasma), also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma or commonly referred to as Dracula Therapy, is one of the newest and most natural methods of skin rejuvenation. It is an ideal choice for those who prefer natural solutions yet expect noticeable results when opting for skin rejuvenation.
PRP therapy has been widely used in the field of medicine for years, for instance, in the orthopedic surgery to heal chronic joint problems, and it has found its place in almost every surgical profession.
How does the treatment work?
During the procedure, we take blood from the patient, and then, through a special process, separate the platelet-rich plasma from the blood. This centrifuged blood is the most valuable part concerning skin rejuvenation, accounting for only 1% of the withdrawn blood. Therefore, it is crucial in this treatment that our practice is equipped with the latest machinery, allowing precise extraction of this layer.
Quality is paramount in aesthetic dermatology, especially when it comes to extracting the smallest cells in our blood, the platelets. To achieve the highest concentration and most active PRP, advanced technology is essential.
During the treatment, we take 18 ml of blood from the patient, inject it into a special kit, and then place it in a centrifuge. In the most modern PRP procedure, after a few minutes of centrifugation, the platelet-rich plasma, clearly distinguishable to the naked eye, separates. This part contains 6-8 times, and sometimes more than 10-20 times, the platelet concentration of normal plasma.
We introduce the plasma containing valuable active ingredients into the skin through tiny punctures or with the help of a dermaroller. Since we utilize the body’s own substances during the treatment, allergic reactions are not possible.
Platelets, or thrombocytes, contain all human growth factors necessary for wound healing, such as PDGF, responsible for stem cell stimulation, TGF, which stimulates connective tissue regeneration, IGF, responsible for wound healing, or EGF, which stimulates cell differentiation, i.e., the formation of healthy epithelial cells.
Besides, platelets release several proteins crucial for tissue regeneration. The effect of platelets is not only based on the release of their own proteins and factors but also on activating other cells to release growth factors and enzymes. As a result, the regenerative capacity of the skin increases many times week by week. This is one of the reasons why the treated skin area regenerates intensively and at an accelerated pace, with almost no visible signs of the treatment apart from possibly minor bleeding the day after.
As a result, the skin becomes firmer, one of the best methods for reducing dark circles under the eyes, wrinkles are smoothed, and the texture, volume, and hydration of the skin noticeably improve. The procedure is also excellent for treating hair loss when applied to the scalp.
What results can be expected?
The healthy, youthful radiance of the skin significantly improves within a few weeks after the treatment, and in the following months, the final and expected effect develops with the appearance of newly formed connective tissue.
PRP therapy is excellent for facial rejuvenation, reducing dark circles under the eyes, treating the skin on the neck and décolleté, refreshing the aging and wrinkled back of the hands, rosacea-prone skin, and even for treating hair loss. The treatment improves under-eye bags and dark circles without altering the natural eye line.
How long does the treatment’s effect last?
The effect gradually builds up, and realistically, we see the final effect about 2-3 months after a single treatment. It depends on individual factors how many treatments are recommended; one treatment every 4 weeks is sufficient for about 4 months, then one or two maintenance treatments per year are generally enough, even for more mature skin.
PRP treatment is typically one that can be started at a young age and is even recommended. Prevention is the best remedy for everything, and starting to take care of oneself in time can extend youthful years. With this treatment, not only can existing wrinkles and sagging skin be addressed, but it is also suitable for prevention.
