Hyaluronic acid filling
Instant Correction of Wrinkles and Folds
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin’s connective tissue. Its concentration gradually decreases with age, partly causing the skin to lose elasticity and tone, leading to the formation of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid fillers are fully biodegradable by the body, and they are completely absorbed. These materials are produced through biological fermentation, meaning they are not of animal origin, eliminating the need for allergy testing prior to application.
There are various aesthetic treatments available, including bio-stimulating procedures, where the effects become visible in weeks or months. These treatments genuinely rejuvenate and reverse the aging processes of the skin.
Hyaluronic acid wrinkle filling, however, offers an immediate correction. While it doesn’t replace or substitute bio-stimulating treatments like dermarollers or laser procedures, it serves a different purpose. For those seeking immediate results, hyaluronic acid filling is chosen to fill wrinkles, lift sagging skin, and the patient leaves the clinic looking 5-10 years younger on the same day.
These fillers are frequently used to eliminate nasolabial folds, one of the earliest and most bothersome wrinkles for many. Marionette lines, occurring at the corners of the mouth, can be filled, commonly referred to as smile lines. Glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), smoker’s lines above the lips, and under-eye hollows are also areas suitable for correction. Additionally, hyaluronic acid is an excellent choice for contouring and volume restoration. It can lift sagging skin without the need for surgical intervention.
Recovery time is very short, with possible mild swelling and redness at the injection site for 2-5 days, usually easily covered with makeup, and in many cases, these symptoms do not occur. There might be bruising at the injection site, which typically resolves within a variable period, usually between a few days and two weeks.
Recommendations for the pre and post-treatment period: Useful advice is provided in our pre-treatment guidelines.
Duration: Generally 6-12 months, and this duration can be extended with minor touch-ups and bio-stimulating treatments.
Lip Filling
Hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used substance for lip filling and lip contour enhancement. As we age, everyone experiences thinning of the lips. Lip filling doesn’t necessarily result in duck lips; everything can be done subtly within the boundaries of good taste, achieving a meaningful change. Slightly fuller lips can be particularly rejuvenating after a certain age.
Lip contour filling doesn’t increase the size of the lips; it only reinforces the lip line, similar to using a lip-colored lip liner. This doesn’t make the lips fuller, but it makes the contour more defined. Lip contour correction can also refine the vertical wrinkles around the mouth, the so-called smoker’s lines.
Injecting hyaluronic acid directly into the lips makes them fuller. These two techniques can be applied separately or combined.
Correcting the smoker’s lines above the upper lip often makes the lips more beautiful and fuller by itself. The marionette fold, a wrinkle in the corner of the mouth, can also be corrected. This wrinkle usually deepens over time due to facial movements, connective tissue changes, and especially sagging of the cheeks. Filling this area makes the lips smile again.
The philtrum, the two lines connecting the upper lip to the nose, can be filled to give the upper lip a more beautiful shape and curve, making it more sensual. Filling the Cupid’s bow, the area between the two lines in the middle of the philtrum, can enhance this effect.
Before the treatment, we consider the patient’s expectations, lip characteristics, and facial features collectively to decide on the treatment approach and select the most suitable filler.
What to expect after the treatment?
In the days following the treatment, expect swelling in the lips, which can be significantly reduced with ice application. Consuming slightly less fluid in the first 24 hours can also help reduce swelling. Minor bleeding may occur after lip filling.
The final result will be visible 5-15 days after the swelling subsides, and the outcome lasts approximately 4-6 months. Daily activities can be resumed immediately after the intervention. The treatment is performed with either a numbing cream or local injection, causing minimal discomfort.
Contraindications: The procedure cannot be performed during an active herpes infection, pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Nose Contouring with Hyaluronic Acid
The contour of the nose can be shaped through injection procedures without the need for surgical intervention. The procedure with hyaluronic acid filler temporarily alters the shape and appearance of the nose. It can be applied in cases of the following concerns:
- Straightening a crooked nose
- Concealing bumps and minor imperfections (e.g., swelling in the nasal bridge)
- Lifting a flat nasal bridge
- Elevating a drooping nasal tip
- Achieving optical nose refinement
- Other nasal tip corrections
How is the treatment performed?
During the intervention, contour irregularities can be corrected with a few injections. The treatment takes a maximum of 20-30 minutes, and the results become immediately visible.
How long does the effect last?
The change is immediately noticeable, but the final result becomes apparent around 2 weeks later as the swelling decreases. Depending on the individual, the effect can last for 8-16 months.
